The Athlete Commission supports the athlete voice and the World Curling Federation’s mission by reporting directly to the board through a non-voting position filled by the Athlete Commission Chair. The Athlete Commission also has members who sit on the Competition and Rules Commission and Nominating Committee.
If you are interested in standing for election for one of these vacancies then please submit your nomination in the form of a statement as to why you are seeking election to the Commission in no more than 500 words.
Your submission must be supported by the Member Association that you competed for. Please make sure you are clear as to your Member Association and which of the positions you are seeking to fill.
To be eligible to be nominated you must have represented your World Curling Federation Member Association in a World Curling Federation World “A” Championship, Olympic or Paralympic Games in the prior five years in any of the four medal disciplines of Curling at the Olympic and Paralympic Games (Women’s, Men’s, Mixed Doubles and Wheelchair). Additionally you must also have never received a sanction for violation of the Olympic Movement Code on Prevention of Manipulation of Competitions or violation of the World Anti-Doping Code.
For your nomination to be considered please ensure it is sent to colin.grahamslaw@worldcurling.org by 17:00 British Summer Time (BST) 22 October 2021.
Elections will be held electronically in November 2021 with the new Commission taking up its role as soon as possible thereafter.
